Team
Dark Ice Management is led by its co-founders: Alexandra Pohl, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, and William Pohl III, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer. The platform team is hired in stages; people appear here on their first day, with their consent and our compliance officer’s approval.

Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer
An operator who runs a platform like a plant.
Alexandra Pohl co-founded Dark Ice Management and is its Chief Executive Officer. She sets the standard for how the shared platform serves every Dark Ice company.
The foundation
Raised in a real estate family, Alexandra learned capital strategy and asset performance early. She earned dual degrees in Business Management and Exercise Science as a Hall of Fame dual-sport athlete, trained in martial arts and later earned an MBA in Global Business Management.
Operations
For more than seven years she applied lean and Toyota Production System methods to complex multi-site operations: compressing project timelines and cutting waste at Toyota, and standardizing KPIs and tightening variance to budget across international programs at Danfoss.
Public service
She spent more than eight years in senior U.S. federal leadership on regulatory and infrastructure matters, and has personally directed $300 million or more in development and capital programs.
Dark Ice
At Dark Ice Management she brings the same discipline to the platform: one budget, one close, one compliance program and one set of numbers that every Dark Ice company reports against each month.
“A platform is a production line. Every handoff is either designed or accidental.”

Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer
A builder who runs the platform like an owner.
William Pohl III co-founded Dark Ice Management and is its Chief Operating Officer. He runs the platform’s people, offices, systems and services agreements.
The foundation
Raised in Cincinnati by a serial entrepreneur, William grew up around a CPA firm, real estate companies, a roofing company and a collector car dealership, and learned one rule early: never quitting gives you an advantage over 99% of the people. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from American Public University.
Real estate
He started as a project manager on job sites across the eastern United States and became Managing Partner of Trustpoint Financial’s residential real estate funds by 2005. He went on to found Tetra Homes in single-family and Majorwave in multifamily, buying whole neighborhoods and apartment communities and repositioning them into places people wanted to live.
Two decades
Over two decades, his 20 residential real estate funds and his companies delivered more than 10,000 homes and apartments across eight states and Washington, D.C., with teams of fewer than 25 people. Through the 2008 collapse, he kept building, bought while others sold, gave investors the hard truth early and kept his team together.
Dark Ice
William runs the platform day to day: six offices, the systems every company works on, the services agreements that bind the companies together, and the hiring plan that grows the team only as fast as the fees allow.
“Small teams, no commingling, every cost with a home. That is how you keep a platform honest.”

Shared platforms work only when the people who rely on them know what to expect. As Chief of Staff at Dark Ice Management, Suebina Wong is responsible for making that true. Dark Ice Management employs the team and runs finance, compliance, legal, technology, offices, and investor services for Dark Ice Ventures and Dark Ice Capital. Suebina works directly with Alexandra Pohl, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, to set the platform’s priorities, keep its leadership meetings on cadence, and track commitments from first request to finished work.
Public service
She learned to build dependable systems under far greater pressure. Her twelve years in the U.S. Intelligence Community included six on active duty with the Army, where she was a Senior SIGINT Geospatial Analyst and led a mission team in support of operations in Iraq and Afghanistan: Iraqi Freedom, New Dawn, Enduring Freedom, and Resolute Support. Afterward she taught the methods that turn raw information into decisions to more than 1,000 intelligence professionals government-wide.
Real estate
Suebina went on to a career in real estate and spent five straight years ranked with the nation’s leading agents, handling acquisitions, opening new markets, and repositioning assets in highly competitive metro areas. It gave her a working understanding of the deals a platform like this one exists to support.
Dark Ice
Today she connects the Office of the CEO with the finance, compliance, legal, technology, and investor services teams across six offices, so that both firms the platform serves can count on one dependable operating rhythm.
Every investor relationship rests on details handled well: a question answered on time, a document sent to the right person, sensitive information kept secure. At Dark Ice Management, the shared platform that runs finance, compliance, legal, technology, offices, and investor services for Dark Ice Ventures and Dark Ice Capital, McCory King is Head of Investor Relations and is responsible for getting those details right.
Dark Ice
He reports to William Pohl III, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer, and works closely with Alexandra Pohl, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer. His remit covers the investor services both firms rely on: one investor database and relationship standard, due diligence responses, data rooms, investor reporting, and the ongoing work with limited partners, family offices, and institutional allocators.
Experience
McCory’s background suits a platform role. Over two decades he has worked across financial services, operations, risk management, and technology. He started in treasury services at Bank of America, managing accounts for Fortune 500 companies and state clients, and went on to serve as a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State, where his work included leading information security efforts and directing teams on sensitive programs. He knows that how a firm protects its investors’ information says as much about it as any presentation does.
Education
His graduate degree is a Master of Science in Intelligence Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus; he completed his undergraduate studies at Old Dominion University with a Bachelor of Science in Communications.
Good research should belong to the whole firm, not sit in one person’s files. At Dark Ice Management, the shared platform that employs the team and runs finance, compliance, legal, technology, and investor services for Dark Ice Ventures and Dark Ice Capital, Joe Tobin is Head of Research and makes sure it does.
Dark Ice
Joe reports to William Pohl III, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer, and works closely with Alexandra Pohl, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer. He selects and manages the data subscriptions both firms rely on, keeps the standard data template used in every investment committee memo, and benchmarks performance so that funds and companies are measured the same way.
Experience
Protein purification for gene and cell therapy leaves no room for an undocumented step, and Joe spent a decade doing that work as a biotechnology subject matter expert. Promoted to lead manufacturer and department supervisor, he set clear priorities, developed his staff, held people accountable, and built collaboration across functions; under his department’s oversight, more than 20 drug molecules were developed and distributed to patients in critical condition. A parallel 12-year career producing and directing live sports entertainment events, at home and internationally, taught him to deliver on schedule when the stakes are public.
Education
He holds a biochemistry degree, earned with honors at Towson University in 2015. In his free time Joe trains as a bodybuilder, paddleboards, and works in epoxy resin art.
Every firm runs on the work no one sees until it goes wrong. At Dark Ice Management, the shared platform that employs the team and runs finance, compliance, legal, technology, and investor services for Dark Ice Ventures and Dark Ice Capital, Julia Tripline makes sure it doesn’t. She is the firm’s Office Manager.
Dark Ice
Julia reports to William Pohl III, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer, and also serves as assistant to him and to Alexandra Pohl, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, keeping their calendars, travel, and expense reports in order. She runs the front desk and the main line, oversees facilities, vendors, supplies, and office security, and coordinates IT and equipment with the firm’s technology provider. She also works with the finance team on office expenses and company cards, so that spending across the platform is tracked from the start.
Onboarding
Onboarding is one of her central responsibilities. Julia makes sure each new hire arrives to a desk, a login, and a plan, and she keeps the checklist that brings every team member into the firm the same way. It is familiar ground. In the Air Force, she served in instructional and leadership roles that managed training and qualification programs for hundreds of personnel, and she partnered with senior leadership on workforce development and organizational improvements, including the establishment of a new aviation career field.
Experience
Across more than eight years in executive aviation, global operations, program management, and organizational leadership, Julia supported senior national and military leaders at home and abroad. Her assignments took place in sensitive environments where discretion, sound judgment, and precision were essential, and they required her to anticipate changing needs, coordinate across organizations, and keep operations effective under pressure. Those are the same demands placed on a platform that serves more than one firm at once.
Education
She earned a Bachelor of Science in Cultural Anthropology and an Associate of Science in Space Technology and is currently working toward a Master of Science in Intelligence Management. An Oregon native, Julia runs, bakes, explores new places, and spends her free time outdoors with her two dogs.
